Two Players Placed on Waivers Including One Former Top-Five Pick
We have NHL waiver action once again, just hours before the roster freeze in preparation for the Four Nations Faceoff. The two options available to the Montreal Canadiens and other teams today are two young players.
First, the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Jesse Puljujarvi on unconditional waivers in the NHL.

He is a well-known name among hockey fans.
Puljujarvi, 26 years old, 6-foot-4, and 216 pounds, was the fourth overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 draft.
He was selected ahead of names like Matthew Tkachuk, Clayton Keller, Mikhail Sergachev, and Charlie McAvoy, and one spot after Pierre-Luc Dubois.
The forward has accumulated 127 points in 382 career NHL games, including 57 goals, and has nine points in 26 games this season with Pittsburgh.

We also have Vladislav Kolyachonok, who is available on regular waivers.

Vladislav Kolyachonok, 23 years old, is a left-handed defenseman standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 195 pounds.
He was a second-round pick by the Florida Panthers in 2019 (52nd overall) and has recorded five points in 23 games this season with Utah HC.
In his two most recent stints in the American Hockey League, he registered 11 points in 36 games and 21 points in 71 games.
