Already over for Denis Gurianov with the Canadiens at the end of the season? A big statement from Joel Bouchard
During the last few minutes, on TVA Sports, despite the good performance of the new winger for the Montreal Canadiens, Joel Bouchard made a bold statement about Denis Gurianov.
"As of today, Joel Bouchard would not submit a qualifying offer to Gurianov; he frankly dissected several sequences of the forward." - TVA Sports
This means that he would let Gurianov go this summer without receiving anything in return.
During the last few minutes of Jean-Charles Lajoie's show on TVA Sports, Bouchard had this to say:
"He's a big guy who is extremely easy to play against and is not comfortable in uncomfortable areas. He has a good shot, but his hands are very average. His hockey sense also, there are sequences where he doesn't make simple plays."
Joel Bouchard notices worrying trends in Gurianov's play, even making a comparison:
"If he stays like this, for me, he doesn't help. He's a guy like Alex Galchenyuk who scores goals but doesn't help others play with him. [...] There needs to be a kind of breakthrough that rarely happens with a player...but it has happened before."
This opinion is causing a stir among fans of the Canadiens. Do you agree with the expert? Do you think Gurianov has a future with the Montreal Canadiens and as an impact player in the NHL?
Gurianov, 25, was the 12th overall pick (first round) of the 2015 draft. He has 4 goals (5 points) in 8 games since arriving with the Montreal Canadiens, acquired in exchange for Evgeny Dadonov.
