The future of Jonathan Drouin continues to generate a lot of reactions from Montreal Canadiens fans.
Would it be better to let him go, or would it be better to give him another chance with the Habs and sign him for less?
Drouin recently spoke out on the subject:
"I see the light at the end of the tunnel (...) I want to be part of that."
- Drouin on the end of the season and on working with to Martin St-Louis in the future.
Basically, we must remember that during his recent press briefing, Drouin clearly opened the door to return with the Habs next year.
He loves playing for Martin St-Louis and wants to be part of the rebuild, or the return to strength of the Tricolore.
An interesting proposition for Drouin
On that note, the excellent Marc-Olivier Beaudoin just dropped an intriguing suggestion.
"Jonathan Drouin has 16 points in his last 21 games. If he's willing to sign a 1-year contract at an AAV around $1.5-2M, it's definitely a tempting bet for the CH!
One decent season and poof, one more asset to trade at the 2024 deadline!"
- Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
Do you like the idea? Would you?
Would you sign Drouin for 1 year at $1.5-2 million?
That would be quite a turnaround, considering he really seemed to be on his way out, but his recent streak may have changed everything.
Stay tuned!
