The recent absence of Joel Edmundson from the CH lineup makes Kent Hughes' job a lot harder. The defenseman could have offered a very good return to the organization but his injury could strongly frighten the various DG of the league.
Could his impending return to action change that?
However, it appears, according to what Darren Dreger is reporting, that the Interest has not completely evaporated regarding the veteran defenseman.
The Edmonton Oilers, seeing that options are dwindling around the league for an experienced defenseman, are reportedly in discussions with the Nashville Predators and the Habs.
A big statement from Darren Dreger on the subject:
Regarding Edmundson, if he is not yet ready to return to the game, things seem to be going well. This Monday PM, during the club's practice in San Jose, the 44 was on the ice with his teammates with a regular jersey.
It will be interesting to see if Kent Hughes can pull another rabbit out of his hat and have a good return for Edmundson despite his injury history.
Something to keep an eye on between now and next Friday!
