Hughes Reveals His Plan to Acquire a Young Goaltender and Three Names Have Just Been Targeted
During the last few days, the annual NHL combine took place in Nashville, showcasing the top 106 prospects for the 2023 draft.
Just under two weeks before the draft, the general manager of the Canadiens, Kent Hughes, took the time to answer questions from the media, and one of his responses particularly caught attention.
When asked if he would be interested in selecting a goalie in the first two rounds, Hughes showed a great deal of transparency, affirming that it was definitely a possibility.
Still in search of a future goaltender to succeed Carey Price, Hughes would not hesitate to seize the opportunity if one of the goalies targeted by the Canadiens was still available at the end of the first round or in the second round.
It should be noted that goaltender Carson Bjarnason and Trey Augustine, as well as the giant Michael Hrabal, are all seen as prospects with a high chance of being selected in the first two rounds.
It will be interesting to see who Kent Hughes will set his sights on, if he indeed chooses to use a high pick to select a masked man.
