It's no longer a secret to anyone, Pierre-Luc Dubois will most likely be traded in the next few weeks.

The Winnipeg Jets' forward has clearly shown his intentions by informing the team's management that he has no intention of signing a contract extension with the Jets, which means a trade would be imminent in his case.

As we know, the majority of Canadiens fans hope for a positive outcome in which the Quebec athlete will wear the Habs uniform in 2023-2024 but in recent days, other NHL teams would have joined the Pierre-Luc Dubois derby.

Among these teams are the Los Angeles Kings and according to some experts, the California organization could be considered as the favorite to acquire Dubois' services.

Once the transaction is completed, he would sign an eight-year extension with his new team and would ask for an annual salary of $9 million.

However, as reported by my colleague Danny Potvin from Fanadiens.com, Dubois' salary demands could be a bluff to ensure the Canadiens acquire him.

At least that's the opinion of informant Marc-Olivier Beaudoin who believes that some NHL teams would be turned off by Dubois' demands and that he could eventually join the Canadiens.

Could it be that Beaudoin has privileged information on this case and that Pierre-Luc Dubois is getting closer to Montreal?

Hard to say for now, but it's true that a salary of $9 million per year for a player whose best season in his career is 63 points can seem enormous and he could better justify this salary by playing another season before his full autonomy.

But there is no denying that Beaudoin's assertion will once again make Canadiens fans dream and the next few weeks promise to be quite exciting.

Imagine the reaction of other GMs if Dubois finally signs for less than $8 million with the Habs.
