Last minute major development concerning Marc Bergevin and Pierre-Luc Dubois
While the name of the hour in the NHL trade market is definitely that of the forward Pierre-Luc Dubois at the moment, new information has just surfaced.
Let's recall that we reported not later than last week that sources well acquainted with the case are convinced it will be resolved within about two weeks. Dubois has confirmed to the Jets that he will not sign with them.
There's new development
According to what the reputable Elliotte Friedman has just reported, the Los Angeles Kings have seriously entered the race to acquire Dubois, and they are currently being aggressive about his case.
In fact, here's what Marco Normandin just reported. He goes even further:
"Moreover, a source close to Dubois' entourage informs us that as of this writing, the Kings would be considered as the favorites in this derby.
Although Montreal is at the top of his list of places he hopes to end up, one could not blame Dubois for accepting to continue his long-term career under the hot sun of California." - Via HABSolumentFan
So, things are heating up! This would be quite a turn of events!
Of course, it would be very ironic that after his serious attempts to acquire him when he was the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Marc Bergevin could finally see Pierre-Luc Dubois join his organization.
Dubois, 24, was a 3rd overall pick in 2016. He racked up 63 points in 73 games this season with the Winnipeg Jets. (27 goals)
A very big case to follow!
