Trades: Kent Hughes just made a major phone call
The rumor has been circulating for a few days, but over the last few hours, a source confirmed that Kent Hughes made a very interesting phone call to the San Jose Sharks (as you might have guessed) to acquire the fourth overall pick.
That's not all. It's also confirmed that Kent Hughes has talked to the Anaheim Ducks for the second overall pick.
Clearly, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens is attempting a bold move, and we love it. The story still doesn't say what he is willing to offer, and that's the information we are actively trying to get.
Some have mentioned young defenders like Logan Mailloux, but let's wait and see about that. We imagine that the 31st overall pick would certainly be involved, along with the 5th overall pick.
The Canadiens are not satisfied with drafting 5th and are making calls to send out serious concrete offers.
Multiple sources believe that the Habs are secretly targeting Adam Fantilli, but would also be happy with Leo Carlsson or Will Smith.
