A Kotkaniemi trade back to MTL emerges online and we have a verdict
As the Hurricanes face off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight at the Bell Centre, things are not going well for Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
As we reported this morning, Kotkaniemi is unfortunately currently stuck in a four-player rotation on his team's fourth line.
It seems he is really no longer in the plans for Carolina, and his contract of $4.82 million per season until 2030 is becoming a huge burden for them.
And if there's one thing we know very well about their owner, Tom Dundon, it's that he hates overpaying his players.
He is a rather frugal owner, and he is an owner who will refuse to pay nearly 5 million per year for a player who barely plays, like Jesperi Kotkaniemi. (and who has less than 10 points in his last 50 games)
So, do not be surprised if he orders his GM to get rid of this contract.
Knowing all this, we asked you a question over the last few hours.
