Another prospect that few people are talking about who could be a great target for Montreal.
As reported by the DLC site, the St. Louis Blues will certainly need reinforcements on defense because it is very likely that they will be without the services of Torey Krug for the entirety of the 2024-2025 season due to a diagnosis of arthritis in his left hip, and his case will be re-evaluated in the next six to eight weeks.
The Canadiens could very well come to the aid of the Blues, and during the recording of the podcast The Sick Podcast The Eye Test, host Jimmy Murphy and former TSN analyst Pierre McGuire discussed this possibility. If it were to happen, McGuire already has an idea of the player Kent Hughes should target:
A first-round pick by the Blues, 23rd overall in the 2022 draft, the American right winger was supposed to make his debut with the Blues at the end of last season but instead decided to return to the NCAA for another year.
Even though the Blues organization doesn't say it too publicly, this situation remains delicate. If the Canadiens were to give up a defenseman to acquire Snuggerud, the names of Jordan Harris and Logan Mailloux have been mentioned.
In two seasons with the University of Minnesota team, Snuggerud has collected 84 points, including 42 goals in 79 games, and we are talking about a player molded similarly to Rutger McGroarty, two prospects who have the potential to be solid top-6 forwards for the team in the long term.
What do you think?
