Inspired by his difficult training camp last fall with the CH, prospect Joshua Roy had quite a season. In his 18th year, the fifth round pick (150th overall) in the CH's 2021 draft finished atop the QMJHL scoring charts and earned the prestigious Jean Beliveau Trophy with his 119 points.

Below him in the overall standings, two other Canadiens prospects are in the top 12 in the league in scoring. They are Riley Kidney (Acadie-Bathrust Titan) and Xavier Simoneau (Charlottetown Islanders).

Kidney, who turned 19 in March, has done very well in his third QMJHL season. He has at least kept his word when he said at the beginning of the season that he wanted to "destroy the QMJHL". Almost six months later, the CH's second round pick (63 overall) in the 2021 draft has kept his word.

What's impressive about Simoneau is that the CH's 20-year-old prospect has managed to rack up 86 points in just 48 games. That's 18 games less than Roy and Kidney for the 6th round pick (191st overall) in the 2021 draft.

It's nice to see that CH prospects, and QMJHL prospects at that, are dominating their junior circuit. This is the first time in 22 years that two CH prospects have reached the 100-point mark in the Courteau circuit.

We must also not forget defenseman William Trudeau, who also had a great season. The 19 year old recorded 44 points with the Charlottetown Islanders and finished 14th in league scoring among defensemen. The fourth round pick (113th overall) in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft has until June 1, 2023 to impress the CHL staff and earn a contract.
