During his time in Montreal, Trevor Timmins has not been as successful as expected in the draft over the years. He made some good moves, let's give him that. However, he is remembered far more for the negative than the positive.

A rather interesting fact popped up on social media today that only confirms what we already knew, the Habs have been lacking in drafting quality and developing their players.

In Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Habs had two former first-round picks under Trevor Timmins in Cole Caufield (2019) and Ryan Poehling (2017).

On the other hand, Dominique Ducharme had no less than three former seventh-round picks from the team in his lineup, namely Cayden Primeau (2017), Jake Evans (2014) and Rafael Harvey-Pinard (2019).

We agree, it's not normal for a team to have more seventh round picks than first rounders on their roster. It is rather comical, even surprising, but there was clearly a wound wide open in the organization and it was called Trevor Timmins.

He simply didn't get the job done when the Habs needed him during the team's many first round selections since he was in charge.
