The off-season is the perfect time to tune up and let your body heal. That's exactly what Patrice Bergeron apparently decided to do. Unlike many other Bruins players, who have announced their surgeries, the Bruins have never mentioned Bergeron's surgery. So when a photo of Bergeron's arm surfaced, it attracted a lot of attention.
The Bruins captain was recently seen wearing what appears to be a cast on his arm while on his way to a local MMA fight. The details of the surgery are still unknown, but one thing is for sure, you don't just wear a cast or an arm brace for no reason.
Rumors about whether or not Bergeron will return to the Bruins next season have been rife since the team's elimination from the playoffs. The Quebecer will become an uncompensated free agent this summer and has yet to reach an agreement with the team that drafted him 45th overall in the 2003 draft.
If many would like to see him come to Montreal to join his former agent, Kent Hughes, the main interested party was rather vague about his future. However, he denied that he would be wearing the colors of any team other than the Bruins next season.
Of note, Bergeron won his fifth career Selke Trophy this Sunday!
