Despite being in first place in the Pacific Division, the Vegas Golden Knights are dealing with several injuries right now, including that of their number one goaltender, Logan Thompson.

Thompson will be out of action for several weeks and the Nevada team could be in need of a backup goalie by the trade deadline.

By the way, as reported by Patrick Beauséjour of Fanadiens.com, a trade proposal has surfaced in the last few days and it involves one of the Habs' goalies.

From his Twitter account, statistician Stéphane Laberge suggests that the Habs trade Jake Allen to Vegas in exchange forward Nicolas Roy.

A fourth-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2015, Roy could prove to be a great acquisition from Kent Hughes, who excels in the faceoff circle and is having a pretty good season with 23 points in 52 games.

Now, this is a proposal, not a rumor that was reported by a reporter, but still, it's still something to consider for the future of the organization.

With Chandler Stephenson, Jack Eichel and William Karlsson well established at the center position, Roy could easily get more ice time in Montreal than in Vegas and what's more, he's a Quebec native.

As for Jake Allen, despite the fact that he signed a contract extension before the season started, his value may never be as good as it is this year. With the excellent performance of Samuel Montembeault, why not take a chance?
