The National Hockey League announced today the players who have been invited to the All-Star game on February 5.

If many had been surprised to see that Chris Wideman had a chance to participate, it is instead forward Nick Suzuki who will represent the Montreal Canadiens at this event.

As for the Pacific Division, it is rather surprising to see that the name of Trevor Zegras is not on the list of invited players. The Ducks' forward has nevertheless amassed 27 points in 33 games and has achieved many spectacular games so far.

Journalist Greg Wyshynski said today, however, that it would not be surprising to see the Ducks' forward on this weekend of the stars.

He might indeed be one of the best recruits on the circuit at the All-Star game. This means that fans may well see in action Trevor Zegras, Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider among the NHL's elite.

It is therefore a great missed opportunity for Habs recruit Cole Caufield. In 27 games, the 21-year-old forward has only one goal and seven assists.

Caufield's first appearance at the traditional All-Star game will not be this season unless there is a reversal.

One thing is certain, number 22 of the Habs has an immense talent and he will certainly have the chance to demonstrate it at this event in the coming years.
