After another disappointing outing on Wednesday, the Canadiens headed to Chicago to face the Blackhawks on Thursday night. If the performance against the Bruins was very boring for the viewers, the one against the Hawks was, how can I put it... NEVER seen?
That said, among those who were very interested in following Thursday's game, there was undoubtedly former Canadiens player Maxim Lapierre. The reason was simple, a former teammate made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks on Thursday.
Indeed, the 19-year-old prospect, Lukas Reichel, played with Lapierre in Berlin during the 2019-2020 season. The one who was selected 17th at the 2020 auction made his Bettman debut on the Bettman circuit in the first trio alongside Patrick Kane and Dylan Strome. Not bad, is it?
The German prospect had a stellar start in the American Hockey League as he scored 20 points in as many games. That's why he earned such a promotion.
As for his performance on Thursday, the young man did well by leading three net shots, he who played close to 16 minutes, including 1 minute 19 on the massive offense. Not bad, is it?
