During his daily press briefing, Dominique Ducharme gave a little update on Cole Caufield and Carey Price's medical records. In addition, the Habs' pilot shared his game plan regarding the newly acquired Samuel Montembeault.
On Carey Price:
Number 31 stayed home today to avoid contagion. He is battling a virus and recovering from knee surgery.
On Cole Caufield:
The organization's doctors have not given Caufield the green light to return to the game. He skates, but he is not allowed to play with contacts. Remember that the young American had injured his upper body during a warm-up period, where he fell while taking a shot. He should be back at his position against the Senators at the Bell Centre on Thursday.
On Samuel Montembeault:
The Quebec goaltender will start the entire game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Cayden Primeau will serve as his assistant.
This is a sign of confidence on the part of Dominique Ducharme. We probably want to see if Montembeault will be ready to face the music when the time comes to back up Jake Allen, while waiting for the return of Carey Price.
