On the opening day of the NHL's free agent market, Kent Hughes settled for depth signings.
On the other hand, a much bigger acquisition could be in the works and on that front, there's news and it's big.
The agent of Pierre-Luc Dubois, Pat Brisson, has just given his opinion on the file and he made a very interesting statement.
Does Dubois really have a chance to succeed with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge? See what his agent said on TVA Sports:
"I think there are several teams that have a lot of interest in Pierre-Luc. At the end of the day, there are two years left before he becomes an unrestricted free agent. We've had discussions with Winnipeg."
Then Pat Brisson adds this and this is where it gets interesting:
"I can speak to that because right now he hasn't signed a contract, he's a compensated free agent. Montreal is a city where he would like to play. That's the only thing I can say right now."
Wow. So Dubois' agent just confirmed, publicly on TVA Sports, that his client would indeed like to play in Montreal.
Remember that, according to rumors, Kent Hughes would currently work on a trade (with his counterpart of the Jets) to bring Dubois to Montreal.
In any case, we can really think that Dubois will play with the CH within two years, it seems really plausible.
