We just got some great news for young Juraj Slafkovsky on the opening day of the NHL free agent market.
He just signed his NHL entry-level contract with the Habs, with the team that obviously drafted him first overall last week.
A big significant signing for Kent Hughes and for the youngster:
"Club de hockey Canadien General Manager Kent Hughes announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a three-season entry-level contract with forward Juraj Slafkovsk (2022-2023 to 2024-2025).
Slafkovsk, 18, played 38 games with TPS Turku in Finland's Liiga last season, scoring five goals and five assists.
He helped Slovakia win bronze at the 2022 Beijing Olympics with seven goals in seven games to earn tournament MVP honours and was named to the tournament's all-star team.
The Kosice, Slovakia native was drafted first overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He became the first Slovak in history to achieve the feat." - Official Montreal Canadiens release
