With a hefty contract of $6.25 million per season for three more years, there aren't many options to trade Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry.
Reporter for The Athletic, Marc-Antoine Godin, has compiled a list of eight teams where Jeff Petry could end up in the 2022-2023 season.
A Michigan native, could the Red Wings be interested in the right-handed defenseman? With the presence of youngsters Moritz Seider and Filip Hronek on the right side, let's just say the chances are slim.
With the potential departure of Dallas Stars right-handed defenseman John Klingberg, Petry could be headed there.
According to Godin, the most logical destination would be the Pittsburgh Penguins. With the possible departure of Kris Letang, you'll understand that this is becoming more and more plausible.
The other cities mentioned by the journalist are Seattle, Buffalo, Nashville, New Jersey and the New York Islanders.
