Now that the 2022 NHL Draft is officially behind us, we'll focus on the opening of the free agent market.

Many teams will have big decisions to make with their restricted free agents, including of course, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

Who will stay in Montreal and who will leave?

As general manager Kent Hughes has very little space under the salary cap, he will have to make some heartbreaking choices and big decisions.

As my colleague Keven Mawn of Fanadiens.com reports, a major new piece of information just surfaced.

According to information from Trege Wilson of The Hockey Writers, Hughes is reportedly on the verge of letting some notable players go.

"Don't expect the Habs to qualify several of their RFAs. Dach and Primeau will possibly be the only two." - Wilson

Kent Hughes would thus offer qualifying offers to only two players, leaving several others to leave the organization in the process.

If Wilson is correct, then Michael Pezzetta, Rem Pitlick, Kale Clague, Joel Teasdale, Nate Schnarr, Josh Brook and Corey Schueneman would all be released by the Habs.

In the case of Pezzetta, Schueneman and Rem Pitlick, that would be a shame. Stay tuned!

If it was your decision, which ones would you let go?
