On Monday, you were told that Daniel Doré, a recruiter with the New York Rangers, could be considered for the GM position in Montreal.
He has ties to the new Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations, Jeff Gorton, who he worked with in New York and Boston over the years.
However, during his podcast «32 Thoughts», Elliotte Friedman spoke about the possibility that Jeff Gorton could hire Daniel Doré, but in a different role than the one of general manager. Perhaps in a recruiting role, who knows? A return to the fold for the native of Ferme-Neuve?
"Another possible candidate for an interview in Montreal (but probably another role, not GM) could be Daniel Doré, who did recruiting for Jeff Gorton with the Rangers. The Canadiens will try to reduce the number of CEO candidates fairly quickly."
To be followed...
The fact remains that Doré's candidacy is more than interesting, if we consider it to fill a position less polarizing than the one of general manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
