Brett Connolly was suspended for four games following his assault on Tanner Kero. Connolly suddenly appeared as Kero was looking back and then took him down on the ice. The Stars player hit the ice surface hard and lay motionless, only to be taken to the hospital.

That being said, following this duel, Joe Pavelski showed up to the media with a broken face. The veteran was very confused and emotional about the injury his teammate sustained. He was very emotional during his media availability, as he scored two goals and two assists in this game.
It's understandable that Pavelski showed up in such a state since he suffered a scary injury in the playoffs a few years ago when he was playing for the San Jose Sharks.
