With Logan Mailloux's rather eventful season and question marks surrounding him, we're all wondering what kind of hockey player the Habs have on hand.
Despite missing most of the London Knights' 2021-2022 season, the 18-year-old has lost none of his talent and timing, even far from it. He has done his homework in life and on the ice.
He has scored no less than five points, including three goals, in three games since his return to the game, and has maintained a +5 rating. He is truly dominant on the ice, especially in offensive territory.
Who would you compare the 6-foot-3 defenseman to? Grant McCagg, a former Montreal Canadiens scout, got an outside opinion from an NHL scout about Mailloux.
According to this scout, Logan Mailloux would remind him of a young Brent Burns.
Remember that Brent Burns is one of the best offensive defensemen of modern times with 750 points in 1210 NHL games so far. That's quite a comparison from this scout.
I like the parallel between the two, it makes sense. Logan Mailloux has quite a wrist shot, just like good old Brent Burns and they have pretty much the same style of skating.
It's REALLY too early to tell what kind of player he will be in the NHL, but this comparison is very encouraging.
