The news quickly made the rounds on the web, but let's recall the tragedy that occurred yesterday in the OHL, as the London Knights announced via an official statement that one of their players died suddenly.
A sudden and tragic death, as Abakar Kazbekov, an 18 year old Russian player, is no more. He was a former first overall pick in the OHL, who was in uniform Friday night imagine... We are at a loss for words.
A news that really shook the hockey planet, and in the last few hours, Montreal Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux reacted and paid a beautiful tribute to young Abakar Kazbekov.
A meaningful tribute to his young teammate through a story Instagram:
It reads "Fly high, Abby," with the Knights' home ice as the backdrop. It's a nice touch.
Our deepest thoughts are with Kazbekov's loved ones. There are no words to describe how sad this is.
