We were treated to a great surprise this morning during the Montreal Canadiens' morning practice, as forward Sean Monahan jumped on the ice with his teammates!
See the official announcement from the organization:
Forward Sean Monahan will participate in today's morning skate (no-contact jersey
- Montreal Canadiens
So Monahan was indeed back at practice Thursday morning in Raleigh, where the Habs are set to face the Hurricanes in Carolina.
Monahan was wearing a jersey indicating that he can't receive contact, but it's definitely a big step in the right direction, especially with the NHL trade deadline just two weeks away.
Monahan, 28, has a solid 17 points in 25 games this season, his first with the Habs. He was acquired this summer from the Calgary Flames with a first round pick for future considerations.
Since his contract expires this summer, he could certainly be traded by March 3rd.
More details will follow.
