The relationship between the New Jersey Devils and defenseman PK Subban definitely seems to be coming to an end, as the Metropolitan Division team now officially tries to trade its number 76, acquired from the Nashville Preds.
«The Devils are currently trying to trade PK Subban, but he will be impossible to move unless they agree to retain half of his salary and even then they could probably only hope to receive a mid-round draft pick, or a b-level prospect." - The Athletic
That says a lot. Do you think it's worth giving up a second-tier prospect, or if not, a 3rd, 4th or 5th round pick (in short, paying for a mid-round draft pick), to get the services of 32 year old PK Subban?
Subban had 18 points in 49 games this season at New Jersey and 19 points in 44 games last season.
He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer (his contract ends) and he still earns 9 million per season, although here we are talking about receiving him with an annual salary of 4.5 million.
