We won't stop repeating it over and over until Cole Caufield is able to dance again with his confidence, but he does not have the makings of an NHL impact player right now.
Yes, he has the skills to succeed in the future and most likely become a formidable 30-goal scorer. However, so far, despite good shots, that does not mean anything. Nothing works for the little number 22.
But how does Dominique Ducharme have to proceed in order for Caufield to recover his bearings? NHL alumni Bruno Gervais may have a solution to help the cause.
Listen to this video, Gervais explains very well the role to specialize for Cole Caufield.
Caufield has the shot, the speed of execution and the intelligence to succeed in such a seat, that is to say to shoot from the slot on the power play, the role of pivot (the bumper) in the defensive box. We have tried it and we must continue to do so during the next power plays. We must refine this aspect with Caufield!
