A new and very disturbing piece of information has surfaced, as Renaud Lavoie revealed a not-so-reassuring development on TVA Sports.
Indeed, he mentioned that Sean Monahan seemed to have a lot of pain today on the ice.
If the last updates indicated a return to the game of the forward soon, Lavoie was rather skeptical when discussing his situation.
The 29-year-old has been injured since the beginning of December. He had just moved on to another stage of his rehabilitation when he joined his teammates at practice in the last few days.
With the trade deadline fast approaching on March 3, this situation could become very problematic for Hughes and fans who were hoping for a trade of #91.
The unfortunate thing is that if Monahan had been healthy, he could have allowed the Habs to get something interesting in a trade.
His contract is up at the end of this season and, barring a surprise new deal, he will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
