While the Montreal Canadiens players were back in Brossard today, some of them spoke to reporters after the Tricolore's practice today.
Notably, Carey Price spoke about his future in Montreal and in the NHL:
Among the topics of the day, the World Hockey Championship came up a lot today. The event, which will take place in a few weeks, is already starting to attract attention and Carey (as well as Nick Suzuki) spoke about the possibility of representing Team Canada.
Reporters on hand did ask Price the question, but also, Nick Suzuki.
Contrary to his star goalie, Suzuki would be perfectly open to representing Canada this spring, and he took the opportunity to send a clear message to the Canadian team's management:
"Suzuki says he would definitely consider playing at the World Championship if Team Canada asked him to." - John Lu, TSN
The forward added that before he makes his decision (and publicly reveals his intentions), he'll need to get the invitation. So the ball is in the court of the Canadian leaders in charge of Team Canada.
It will be interesting to see if this invitation will arrive soon, especially since Suzuki seems to have definitely his place within Team Canada.
