Oilers owner in hot water as disturbing new revelations surface
Hockey Canada's ongoing sexual assault investigation has not stopped another scandal from emerging. Documents were released Wednesday implicating Edmonton Oilers owner Darryl Katz in a scandal involving payment for sex with a 17-year-old girl.
"The court filing alleges that Edmonton Oilers owner Daryl Katz paid $75,000 to a then-underage girl for sex. Katz was reportedly 53 years old at the time."

The court documents also included alleged text messages shared between Katz and the plaintiff. The images include the date and time, which lends credibility to the claims.
These claims come on the heels of a very difficult year for the NHL. After the Kyle Beach affair, the NHL tried to rehabilitate its image, but this information will probably not please Commissioner Gary Bettman.
Katz, who has owned the Oilers since 2008, was also previously accused of soliciting a married actress for sex. At the time, he was accused by a Brazilian model-actress of offering her "millions" of dollars and a role in a movie in exchange for sex.
