Phillip Danault was at the end of his rope

During the coverage of the opening game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Maple Leafs in Toronto, TVA Sports presented an excerpt of the interview that Phillip Danault gave to Renaud Lavoie. It will be presented Thursday night on TVA Sports.
The interview in question was shot in California and during the sequences presented by the channel, we can see a very serene Phillip Danault. It was as if he had lifted 300 pounds off his shoulders. He was fresh as a rose as he began his new journey.
Going back to the clip, Danault said he had been around the block with the Montreal Canadiens. That he was ready to leave the organization and the city. It seemed clear for a while that he wanted to leave, and that's probably why he turned down the 6-year, $30 million offer that Marc Bergevin made him.
We can understand him. Totally. It's certainly becoming exhausting for a Quebec player to evolve in a market where he has no peace of mind. He is spied on, everyone talks to him on the street and in grocery stores, and then he takes the heat during interviews.
In short, good luck, once again, Phillip!
