For over a year now, Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun has been considered a potential trade candidate. The latter even admitted on the opening day of training camp that he wanted to join a team in contention for the big trophy.
On that note, TSN's Darren Dreger said Thursday that the market is heating up around the 24-year-old. Despite his struggles in 2021-22, it's still expected to be a big deal.
Chychrun had seven goals and 21 points in 47 games with Arizona last year. He is signed for three more seasons with a cap hit of $4.6 million. He has a 10-team no-trade clause that begins next summer, according to Capfriendly.
Teams interested in Chychrun at this time include the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets, among others. Although the asking price has apparently dropped in recent months, the Coyotes are still hoping to receive a first round pick and prospects in return.
