The Montreal Canadiens lost (4-3 in overtime) to the Vegas Golden Knights, but Samuel Montembeault's performance was once again impressive.
The 25-year-old is establishing himself as a true National Hockey League goaltender. The Montreal keeper received 50 shots (or more) for a second time this season. The NHL record is four, and that has never happened since Bill Ranford in 92-93.
He also became the second goaltender in the last 45 years to make two consecutive games of 48 saves or more. This is a complete feat of arms that the youngster has just achieved, just saying. #trust
But, despite everything, the young man was not satisfied after this duel since he granted a goal in overtime, giving the Knights victory.
"It's certainly frustrating. I would have liked to win it so that we know our first winning sequence of the season. We missed a chance!»
Hey, the «kid» still got 104 shots during his last two outings, it's still amazing!
In short, Chantal Machabée took the opportunity to tell us the nickname of Samuel which is Dikembe. A nod to the former NBA star, Dikembe Mutombo, who has a similar last name. That's a big nickname, wow!
