There was a rather unfortunate incident during the Ottawa Senators-Buffalo Sabres game on Tuesday night.

Sabre goaltender Aaron Dell purposely defeated young Drake Batherson as he circled the net at full speed. The Senators' forward dropped heavily against the board as a result of contact. Of course, he was injured in the sequence, so he will have to miss a lot of activities. He will thus miss the All-Star game, he who had been invited to the event.

Here is the sequence in question:

The head coach of the Senators, D.J. Smith, was really not happy after the meeting, he who notably flayed Aaron Dell for his gratuitous gesture. He was really frustrated that his foal couldn't go to the All-Star game because of Aaron Dell.

«It's unfortunate for him because the «kid» had the opportunity to go to his first All-Star game. He'd done it before, we've seen the footage. Any other player on the rink who would do that would have faced the music, I guess. I hope the league will see the game again. This is ridiculous!»

I completely agree with the words of the "Sens" head coach. Contact was unnecessary and dangerous, not the kind of thing we want to see in our sport. It is clear that Aaron Dell's act was deliberate...

Hopefully the league will put its grain of salt in this story.
