In the last few minutes, we learned that there were two surprises at the Montreal Canadiens practice today, as both Joel's were on the ice to practice with the team.
This means that a return to play seems imminent for them, something that the organization has officially confirmed:
"Joel Armia and Joel Edmundson have begun the next phase of their rehab and are practicing with the team. They have not yet been cleared to play." - Montreal Canadiens So they haven't been given the green light, but it may happen fairly quickly.
This is obviously great news, but it also means that Kent Hughes will have a very big decision to make regarding his roster.
A young defenseman will have to be scooped up, and for those thinking about Chris Wideman or Johnatan Kovacevic, they are right-handed, while Edmundson is a lefty. It will be very interesting to see what the Montreal Canadiens general manager does when Edmundson is reinstated in the lineup.
The same goes for the forwards, where there is already a large surplus, and now we will have to add Joel Armia to the mix.
Who do you think should get the axe?
More details to follow!
