Obviously, excluding the nomination of Nick Suzuki as the new captain, one of the news of the week that is causing a lot of reaction concerning the CH is the famous agreement with RBC, whose logo now appears on the official jersey of the Montreal Canadiens during home games.

It's not unanimous, but many observers are pointing to the financial argument to explain this decision by Geoff Molson and his organization.

But exactly how much will this deal bring in?

We now have the answer thanks to BPM Sports radio host and former Habs player Georges Laraque.

According to Laraque, RBC will pay the Montreal Canadiens $6.3 million per year to put their logo on the jersey at home games. Still according to Laraque, it is a five-year pact.

Interestingly, many observers and fans have drawn a funny parallel between this deal and Brendan Gallagher's contract.

Why? Simply because the deal between RBC and the CH is a 5-year contract worth $6.3 million per year, according to Laraque, while Gallagher's contract is worth $6.5 million per year and has 5 years left on it.

It's a funny coincidence, but beyond that, there's obviously no connection between the two.

More details to come...
