Over the last few days, observers have speculated about the idea of seeing Corey Perry make his grand return with the Montreal Canadiens as early as next season.
The fans seem to love the idea and all signs indicate that Perry would love it too.
The idea is certainly interesting, but at what cost?
Well-respected Frank Seravalli has just unveiled the likely cost it would take for Kent Hughes to sign Perry this summer.
The verdict:
A contract of one season with a total value of $850,000.

Perry, 38, collected 5 points in 6 games in the most recent NHL playoff series with the Tampa Bay Lightning (and 25 points in the regular season).
During his stint with the Montreal Canadiens in 2020-21, he amassed 21 points in 49 regular-season games, as well as 10 points in 22 playoff games.
