At every Habs game, we see thousands of #22 wandering through the corridors of the Bell Centre.
Many of us love the little forward, who quickly becomes a major pillar for the Canadiens organization.
As my colleague Keven Mawn accurately reports, Caufield may not wear this number forever.
At least, it's a possibility that has been mentioned by journalist Stu Cowan.
In a recent article, the journalist from "The Montreal Gazette" raised the real possibility of seeing the Canadiens organization retire the number (and jersey) of former legend Steve Shutt.
Obviously, such an announcement would force Caufield to change his number.
Before arriving in Montreal, notably at the university level (NCAA), Cole wore the #13 (and with Team USA, he also sported this same #13).
Nothing is confirmed, and these are speculations, but it's a possibility to keep in mind.
If the organization goes ahead with such an announcement, they might decide to change your #22 jerseys for Caufield's new jersey for free, so no reason to worry about buying a jersey of the young sniper who is 5 feet 7 inches tall.
Shutt has several Stanley Cup rings (5) and 424 goals to his credit.
Yes, he would deserve such an honor.
