«BROSSARD – The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, announced on Friday that the team had agreed on the terms of a three-season entry contract (2024-2025 to 2026-2027) with defenseman Adam Engström.
20 years old, Engström scored four goals and added 18 assists in 51 games this season with Rögle BK of Ängelholm, in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). His production of 22 points ranks him second among the defensemen on his team.
The 6'2'', 193 lb defenseman also accumulated four assists in 15 playoff games, helping his team to win the SHL SM Silver Medal.
Engström also represented Sweden at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, during which he recorded one goal and two assists in seven games.
A native of Järna, Sweden, he was selected in the third round (92nd overall) by the Canadiens in the 2022 NHL Draft.» Montreal Canadiens
