Fans are already calling for more power play time for Lane Hutson, and the change announced today involves another very intriguing young player, but unfortunately not Hutson (for now).
Martin St-Louis announced that the young Oliver Kapanen, who is back in the starting lineup, will replace Alex Barré-Boulet on the power play.
In the comments, many fans are discussing Lane Hutson, but at this point, I truly believe it's only a matter of time before we see the young Hutson «push aside» Mike Matheson from the first unit.
It will be interesting to see young Kapanen take on a bigger role against the Ottawa Senators, having already registered 1 point in 1 game, despite only 10 minutes of ice time, in his first career game with the Habs.
Speaking of changes, let's remember the three lineup adjustments made by Martin St-Louis for tonight's game:
Enjoy the game! Who do you think will win? If we see the Samuel Montembeault from Game 1, let's just say Martin St-Louis' squad might have a good chance of walking away with two points.
Kapanen, only 21 years old, is a 6-foot, 180-pound forward. He was the Canadiens' 64th overall pick in 2021 (second round) and collected 34 points in 51 games last season in Finland's top league.
In the playoffs, he recorded 14 points in 13 games, and his progress in recent months has been truly remarkable.
