An interesting acquisition has just been announced for the offense within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
Quebec forward Xavier Cormier officially follows in the footsteps of his little brother, Tommy, and joins the Habs organization.
They become two promising prospects for the team's structure.

«Xavier Cormier will start his first season with the Lions!
An important addition to Ron Choules' team offense!
Welcome to the squad, Xavier!»

Welcome to the organization, Xavier!
Xavier Cormier, aged 23, is from Pont-Rouge, Quebec, and is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward.
He has also been linked to the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and recorded a solid 45 points in 65 games last season with the Fort Wayne Komets.
Cormier also registered 68 points in just 53 games in his final season in the QMJHL with the Rimouski Océanic.
He has already shown that he can play in the American Hockey League (AHL), so it will be interesting to see if he can eventually make the jump with the Laval Rocket (and begin climbing the ranks within the Montreal Canadiens organization).
In his QMJHL career, Cormier scored 147 points in 203 games.
Definitely, this is an excellent acquisition for the Lions!
Please also note that Xavier Cormier plays for the Quebec Harfangs in the National Ball Hockey League (LNHB). He has amassed 20 points in 11 games this season in Quebec.
Xavier and Tommy Cormier now play on the same team in the LNHB (the Harfangs) and on the same team in the ECHL (the Lions 3-R).
Details to follow.
