It's a historic day for the Ottawa Senators, as the NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman, has finally approved the sale of the Sens to the former minority shareholder of the Montreal Canadiens, Michael Andlauer.
Andlauer, who owned a 10% stake in the Habs, is officially switching organizations (in a much larger role), and clearly, he's not shy about stirring things up.
Now that the sale of the Sens has indeed been finalized, Andlauer addressed the Ottawa fans and he's already dropped a line that's causing a stir.
That didn't take long.
Personally, we have no issue with it, but it's certainly getting people talking.
The rivalry will be interesting!
It's worth noting that Andlauer was part of the hiring process for Kent Hughes as the General Manager of the Canadiens in 2022.
In short, we wish him the best of luck in his new (major) role!
With Andlauer's confirmed departure, the Canadiens are likely to announce a personnel change soon. Possibly a significant promotion for Jeff Gorton.
