A player has suddenly announced his retirement from the National Hockey League and it's defenseman Justin Braun

In the past few minutes, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman, Justin Braun, has suddenly announced his retirement from the NHL.

"Justin Braun has officially announced his retirement from the NHL after 13 seasons.

Justin first entered the league in 2010 after being drafted in the 7th round of the 2007 Draft by the San Jose Sharks.

Braun spent 9 seasons with the Sharks before being traded to the Flyers.

He spent three seasons with the Flyers, and had a brief stint in the 2021-22 season with the Rangers before returning to Philadelphia, where he finished his career.

Justin played in 842 regular season games, scoring 199 points as a defensive defenseman.

Congratulations, Justin, on your incredible career, and welcome to the Association!," NHL Alumni posted.

Braun was a highly respected defenseman in the NHL, who played a solid 51 games this season (with a -1 differential, which is solid for a Flyers player). He is 36 years old.

Congratulations to him on his brilliant career and for playing in 119 (!) playoff games.
