A new Xhekaj arrives with the Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens have just drafted Arber Xhekaj's little brother, Florian!
Wow! Indeed, in the last few seconds, with the 101st overall pick in the 2023 National Hockey League Draft, Kent Hughes and the Habs have officially drafted Florian Xhekaj.
We love it!
See the official announcement:
"With the 101st overall pick, the Canadiens select left winger Florian Xhekaj from Hamilton in the OHL."
- Montreal Canadiens
Xhekaj, 19 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound left winger. He has amassed 25 points in 68 games this season in the OHL.
Like his older brother, he is very fiery and very tough to face, as evidenced by his 76 penalty minutes accumulated this season. (18 penalty minutes in 6 playoff games)
We even called it back in December:
