As we begin to think about the 2023 NHL Draft, and as we hope with all our hearts to be able to get our hands on generational talent Connor Bedard, you should know that the teams that don't get a chance to draft him may get a second chance.
You read that correctly.
The next NHL phenom, after Connor Bedard, has already been identified by experts, and it would be none other than Connor Bedard's cousin!
That's right! The young Gavin McKenna is already shattering many records (including those set by his cousin), even producing more than Bedard, in the same league, at the same age.
Top prospect to watch: Gavin Mckenna
Gavin McKenna, the next Connor Bedard? Check out his 22 points in 4 games at the 2023 Canada Games for Team Yukon.
Stats, at the same age, in the CSSHL:
Bedard - 84pts in 36 games
McKenna - 73pts in 25 games
Savoie - 71pts in 31 games "

A name to remember!
We remind you, but Gavin McKenna is indeed Connor Bedard's cousin.
McKenna is 15 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 165 pounds. It's still very early, but right now he's the one expected to be drafted 1st overall in the 2026 NHL draft.
He's really solid!
