With the many developments and news of the past few hours, it has been somewhat overshadowed, but several solid experts believe that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens may have just hit a home run.

They may have one of the steals of the draft. Will it be the Lane Hutson of 2023? To be continued, but it is certainly a very interesting pick.

After ignoring Matvei Michkov at the 5th overall pick, the Canadiens dipped into the KHL today by getting their hands on right-handed defenseman Bogdan Konyushkov, with their second pick in the fourth round (110th overall).

He is 20 years old and he has amassed a very solid 25 points in 64 matches in the KHL.

A very impressive production.

Let's also add that he was named as one of the top three rookies in the entire KHL last season.

If he had been Canadian or American, he would possibly have been a first round pick according to many. Note that his contract in the KHL ends in 2024. (so, soon)

"At only 20 years old and in the KHL, Bogdan Konyushkov ranked no 1 on his team among defenders for assists (23).

That's quite impressive."

- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports

This could be a big hit.
