Former Habs scout reveals who Chicago will pick 2nd and Anaheim 3rd in the draft
In anticipation of the 2024 NHL Draft, former Canadiens scout Grant McCagg has just revealed a scoop involving Ivan Demidov and Cayden Lindstrom.
One of them would indeed be available for Kent Hughes' 5th overall pick, which would be huge for the Canadiens' organization.
According to what McCagg has just published, there are numerous well-informed sources in the scouting world who believe that it would be Artyom Levshunov to Chicago and Anton Silayev to Anaheim.
Artyom Levshunov with the Blackhawks at the number 2 pick and Anton Silayev with the Ducks at the number 3 pick? That would leave Cayden Lindstrom or Ivan Demidov for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens
Check out his exact post.
»I have a strange feeling that Demidov will drop to the Canadiens at five, and they will snap him up. If that happens... I would also love to see them land Yegor Surin. Two of my favourite Russian prospects in recent memory, and giving each of them a country mate to help with the adaptation.
There are plenty in the scouting world who think Levshunov is going to Chicago and Silayev to Anaheim. Columbus may opt for Sennecke or Lindstrom (took both out to dinner at the Combine). No shortage of intrigue this year.»
- Via Grant McCagg In any case, it gives hope for Demidov!
It would be a nice revenge and a beautiful reward for those who wanted to see the Canadiens draft Matvei Michkov last season.
It will be really fascinating to watch, but clearly, unlike last season, we could really have big surprises in the top 4 of the draft, which could truly benefit Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
At the 4th pick, from what we understand, the Blue Jackets have players like Tij Iginla, Beckett Sennecke, and Cayden Lindstrom in their sights, so they might have a list very similar to that of the Canadiens.
Files to follow, but it's promising!
