As notably reported by journalist Renaud Lavoie, from TVA Sports, there was a surprise move on NHL waivers today.
It's very rare to see this at this time of the year, but the Seattle Kraken have just placed a player on waivers.
Surprise: Hayden at the National Hockey League waivers in the middle of May
This is about John Hayden, a 28-year-old center player, who has scored two goals in seven games this season with the Kraken.
He also collected 33 points in 47 games this season with Coachella in the American Hockey League.
Hayden is a 3rd round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013, but he had been traded for a former 1st round pick in 2014. He measures 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 223 pounds.
