The CH would have made their choice and wouldn't want anything to do with this extremely complex and risky case, even knowing that the young man is a generational talent who could haunt the Montreal Canadiens for a very long time.
I continue to believe that it would be a serious mistake to ignore Matvei Michkov at the 5th rank, and I still hope that it is a "bluff", but more and more sources are seriously indicating that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton would have decided not to select the young phenom.
We will have the definitive answer in about two weeks, but it doesn't look good.
